1 st DAY: PERUGIA Arrival of the group by own coach in Perugia in the early afternoon. Meeting with the authorized guide for the visit of the city: the centre starts from Piazza Italia along Corso Vannucci along which you can admire numerous Renaissance palaces, among which stands out the Palazzo dei Priori, the Collegio della Mercanzia where the exponents of the major city corporations (admissions to be paid locally), the National Gallery of Umbria, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Fontana Maggiore, the Cathedral of S. Lorenzo, etc … In the evening accommodation in a hotel in the area, dinner and overnight stay.
2 nd DAY: ASSISI Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Assisi and meeting with the guide to visit the places now known throughout the world. The city located at the top of Mount Subasio and birthplace of S.Francesco and S.Chiara houses the splendid Basilica of S.Francesco which preserves the frescoes of the masters Giotto, Martini and Cimabue. In the town square we find the Palazzo del Capitano del Popolo and the medieval Palazzo dei Priori. Just outside the walls it is worth visiting delicious and mystical Church of St. Damiano where Santa Chiara founded the order of the Poor Clares, and then visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli where you can admire the “Porziuncola”.
