(100 km from Olbia) The local carnival commemorates the ancient Dionysian rites, where animals being torn to commemorate the passion and death of Dionysus torn by the Titans. All black masks are in fact linked to propitiatory rituals for fertility and for the end of the drought the cult of Dionysus represents death and rebirth of nature.

Saturday 23 February Arrival in Monte Maccione in the early afternoon, room arrangement; at about 17h00 typical aperitif with wine and carnival cakes; Transfer to Oliena by coach. Guided tour of the historic center of Oliena to attend “Su harrasehare ulìanesu” with a parade of floats and masks, Sardinian dancing, entertainment and wine tasting and desserts in the various corners of the country, where you can get in touch with the genuine hospitality of olienesi. Return to Monte Maccione. Dinner at a restaurant with cheese ravioli, maharrones a bocciu, stew sheep with mountain herbs, beans and bacon, guglìgliones and rugliettas, water, ¼ wine, coffee. After dinner you can go independently to the ballroom organized by the Committee Lever 1986 (on request you can catch the shuttle service from hotel).
